FAQ: May I put another person's email address into my profile, in addition to my own?
Yes, you may add one additional email or email distribution list, however there are some important things to consider before taking this action:
The system is designed to send notifications to the user that is responsible for the request. Having more than one person be notified can lead to confusion regarding who's supposed to take action. Also, if the other person has a Landport account, they might have difficulty differentiating the messages that relate to their requests, versus the ones relating to the requests of the other user.
Each notification contains a link, that if tapped, logs the person into the account and the pertinent request. Any action taken will appear to have been done by the owner of that account. In some rare cases, this is not a problem, but usually it leads to confusion, as well as increases the risk of adverse changes being made to the account configuration. It is recommended that the additional recipient read the notification, but then log into their own Landport account to take action. Then the request log will correctly reflect who acted on the request and the integrity of the original account is maintained.
When the same notification is sent to multiple people, it often will eventually be treated as bulk spam. You will want to send your IT area a previously received Landport notification email and ask them to whitelist the sender.
